About This Route

The Marangu Route is also known as the Coca-Cola or Tourist Route because it is the quickest and easiest way to reach the Kilimanjaro summit. Every camp along this route features cozy beds and sleeping huts powered by solar energy.

The trails begin at the park headquarters in Marangu village and wind through a variety of landscape features, including heath, moorland and lush rainforest, then leads to the alpine desert and at the peak, the arctic zone, before dropping back down the same path.
