Tarangire Day Trip
Elephant herds, baobabs, 550+ birds.

This is an epic day trip to one of the most iconic parks in Africa — recognised as a UNESCO Heritage Site and the world's largest unbroken, inactive volcanic caldera, formed 2.5 million years ago. A renowned wildlife haven and the Garden of Eden, where humans coexist with wildlife in the park.
At more than 2,000 feet deep and 12 miles in diameter, the Ngorongoro Crater has one of the largest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. 30,000 animals make their home in this crater, making it an ideal place for Big Five sightings.
In the morning, we will pick you up from your lodge at around 5:00–5:30 am to make it early at the gate. We shall have a stop at the Manyara or Karatu area for a breakfast stop and some stretching after a 2 to 2.5-hour drive through a well-tarmacked road. The road goes through the Tarangire–Manyara ecosystem — early in the morning you might see zebras, giraffes, Thompson's gazelles and even elephants crossing the roads. We descend into the Ngorongoro Crater — one of the most extraordinary places on Earth. We will pass through the Ngorongoro Highlands on a short 30-minute drive to the gates. After the morning game drive, you will enjoy a picnic lunch beside the crater lake close to the hippo pool. Lunch is served around 1:30–2:30 pm, after which there is an afternoon game drive of 1–2 hours. Then you will start ascending the crater. After a wonderful day, we leave the Ngorongoro gate around 4:30–5:30 pm and head back to Arusha.
